Hotel Giraffe is a boutique luxury hotel filled with subtle Giraffe statues, books and imagery. It’s unique theme is meant to embody the gentle grace and beauty of the Giraffe. This sophisticated Art Moderne hotel is connected to the must-try Bread & Tulips rustic Italian restaurant.
One of the best features of this and the other hotels in the Library Hotel Collection is that they have a complimentary continental breakfast buffet every morning and complimentary wine & cheese reception every evening from 5pm – 8pm.
The hotel is even featured in the “Sex and the City” Movie with the Penthouse Piano Suite playing as Mr. Big’s “Upper East Side” apartment.
We were guests of Hotel Giraffe but as always, all opinions are our own.
Location: Hotel Giraffe is located in NoMad, which is conveniently just outside the super crowded touristy areas of Midtown but a quick walk to many of those top Midtown attractions like the Empire State Building, Times Square and Madison Square Park. There are also many nearby subway lines.
Check In: Checking in was easy and fast and they were very helpful and friendly.
The Room: The room is spacious with a desk, a plush pink velvet chair. We stayed in a Balcony King Suite and loved opening the doors to our balcony with a view over the streets of NYC.
Bathroom: The bathrooms are very nice and integrate that subtle Giraffe beige-orange color.
Bathrobes and slippers: Bathrobes and slippers are simple and made of a soft towel material.
Wi-Fi: High speed Wi-Fi internet is included.
Water: Complimentary bottles of water are found in room on arrival.
Coffee/tea: There are plenty of options served daily in the Grand Lobby or during their complimentary continental breakfast and evening wine and cheese reception but coffee and tea makers are also available on request.
Power plugs: There were sufficient plugs.
Pool: There is no pool.
Dining: Bread & Tulips (Pane & Tulipani) is a cozy rustic Italian restaurant connected to Hotel Giraffe’s lobby. Order the fried artichokes to start and then try one of their signature pizzas. Guests also enjoy a 20% discount! For more visit: breadandtulipsnyc.com.
Fitness: Guests receive complimentary passes to the New York Sports Club locations throughout Manhattan.
Breakfast: They offer a complimentary continental breakfast. Offerings include oatmeal with berries, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, fresh fruit salad and whole fruits, assorted croissants, mini-muffins, scones, Danishes and pastries, bagels with cream cheese, peanut butter, preserves and butter, fresh orange and cranberry juice, assorted cereals, coffee and assorted teas. Guests are also welcome to have a guest, friend or family member join them for breakfast for free.
Wine and Cheese: The hotel offers a complimentary wine & cheese reception each day from 5p-8p.
Verdict: Yes, Hotel Giraffe has everything you need in a boutique luxury hotel in the perfect Midtown adjacent location in NoMad. I would recommend it especially for Giraffe lovers.
